Where do I pick up my visitor’s badge and garden map showing the locations of the gardens?

Visitor’s badges, and garden maps with garden addresses and descriptions will be available at the reception area of the Maritime Museum, 100 Lafayette St., Havre de Grace on the day of the event.  Parking is available in the Museum parking lot and on the nearby streets.

 How does the tour work?

The garden tour is self-guided.  The gardens may be viewed in any order you choose.  Some gardens are within walking distance of others, and there is often a pleasant walk through a tree-lined part of Historic Havre de Grace between them.   Many of the homes in the city date to the 19th and early 20th centuries. The town itself predates the Revolutionary War.  Some gardens do require a car to access.

Where do I start the tour?

After receiving your Garden badge and map from the Maritime Museum, start the tour itself at any of the gardens you choose.  The gardens may be viewed in any order.

Can I walk the tour?

Typically, several of the gardens are within walking distance of each other, however some will require a car to access.

How long does the tour take?

Gardeners may wish to linger in some of the gardens, and visitors should choose their own pace.  Two to three hours would likely be a good time to allot for touring (but additional time should be added to visit the Garden Mart, Plant Sale, and time for lunch).  Typically, food trucks are available at the Garden Mart, and there are a number of restaurants to enjoy in the town of Havre de Grace.

Are restrooms available?

Restrooms are available beside the Garden Mart and in the Maritime Museum, but not in the Gardens themselves.
